Whole House Remodel in Ellicott City, MD
Challenge
Newly married and wanting to start their new life together in a home with a fresh, updated look that reflected both of their taste, our clients contacted us. A mutual friend had recommended our company and our design team worked closely to offer many options and create the home they desired.
A few challenges were encountered. There was no gray area on when the renovation needed to be completed. With a closing date on her current home fixed, we knew our schedule would be tight. We buckled down and kept our promise. Also, the rebar in the concrete offered challenges when relocating the shower drain and kitchen center island.
The existing entry way was narrow and choppy. By removing the knee wall, the foyer is now spacious and opens to the dining area. Decorative trim now adorns the columns. The baluster and hand rail were stained dark to enhance the new Espresso hardwood floors.
Solution
The master bath is stunning. The separate vanities provide ample storage and are topped with Brown Fantasy granite. Decorative Glass tile in the shower accents the Florida Biscuit tile beautifully. To reflect the mature age of our clients, the shower is roomy, provides seating and has a zero threshold. A grab bar by the commode was welcomed.
Moen and Kohler products were used throughout this renovation.
The sterile look of the upstairs bath is now colorful and appealing with Danya Stream tile accented with Marazzi Crystal Stone tile.
Brown Fantasy granite counters enhance the beauty of the kitchen along with Norcraft Maple cabinetry in White with a black glaze. Bellavita Cashmere Glass Mosaics backsplash is eye catching. Norcraft Espresso Finish cabinetry was used to highlight the center island (complete with under mount sink). The island allows extra counter space, seating and storage space. We added a dry bar with an under-counter bar fridge.
Our client loves to bake and now can easily get to her mixer with the help of her flip-up Mixing Shelf. The under-counter microwave saves valuable counter space. All of the cabinetry have the soft close and easy glide convenience. The contrasting dark flooring enhances the rich look of their kitchen and continues to their foyer.
The laundry room was reconfigured with triple bypass doors.
The quality of work is exceptional. Our designer was able to incorporate our client's style and wishes with his experience. The value of this home has significantly increased.
Our clients are elated with their remodel. The newlyweds held an open house, inviting friends and family, so they too could see this gorgeous transformation.
