Galley Kitchen in Timonium
Challenge
Needing to maximize the amount of storage in this galley kitchen meant that we had to get creative. The homeowners liked their kitchen but it wasn’t as functional as they needed it to be. Without tearing down any walls, they wanted a way to be able to have access to the other parts of the living space. The homeowners were also big fans of craft beer and wine, so having a designated space in their kitchen to house their favorite beverages.
Solution
Custom white cabinetry was installed along the entire length of the kitchen. Next to the large stainless steel fridge we installed extra long double door cabinets which took the place of a pantry space. Decorative handles were installed on the cabinets in order to give it an extra punch of style. Beautiful wood floors in a medium toned wood contrasted with the white colored cabinets. Dark granite countertops flowed right along with the flat built-in cook top, and contrasted with the diagonal patterned square backsplash. Behind the kitchen space we opened up a pass through between the kitchen and living room. This was perfect for entertaining guests, because the homeowners could be in the kitchen and still interact with their guests.
On one side of the kitchen we installed a double door wine mini-fridge for the homeowners to keep their collection of favorite wines. Directly next to that we installed the crowing jewel of the kitchen, a full-size dual tap built-in kegerator. This kitchen was complete with all the necessary tools to make it a gourmet chef’s dream. A large bucket sink, dishwasher, built-in microwave, large double door refrigerator, and double oven, meant this kitchen was tricked out with all the gadgets that made the most of the limited amount of space in the kitchen.
