Photo Album: Multiple Story Additions, Germantown, MD
Client wanted to expand their small home with a two story Addition when they decided to have their elderly parents move in with them. The project would accommodate the existing family and their children while also keeping their elderly parents close to home. The idea of the Addition is to allow families to be there easier for their parents while also allowing personal space for the home to flourish and grow.
The two story Addition was simple. The Upstairs would be a Full Bathroom and Master Bedroom as the main floor would be a small kitchen and living room. Many windows were installed on the main floor as the elderly parents were avid bird watchers. The decision was made to turn the wall into a row of windows, almost like a sunroom concept. The old Water Tank needed to be replaced with an up-to-date version to handle the increase need for water and sewerage. The base would have deep footers for concrete work and made for a good foundation for the Multiple Stories.
The elderly family moved in and enjoyed the simple cozy lifestyle they now could feel independent in. The original home's family was pleased with the quality of work Starcom was able to accomplish in a timely manner and felt happy with how the new Addition was safe for the elderly parents.
