Additions - In-Law Addition & Screened Deck, Ellicott City, MD

Starcom Design Build recently undertook an exciting project to remodel a 1940's home, transforming it into a modern, open-concept space. This space notably added an In-law Suite, Deck, and Screened-in Porch for the family's elderly relatives moving in with them. They thought it was appropriate for the original home to be expanded to accommodate the relatives moving in. 

The In-law Suite Addition provided a private, comfortable living space for the elderly family members. Key features for included a Kitchen, fully equipped and installed in quality and style. A Bathroom, fitted with grab bars and another custom style by the family's preference. The other rooms included a master Bedroom, and a roomy closet. The windows for these rooms were handpicked for their excellent insulation, reducing energy costs, and comfortable living style are the Pella Encompass Energy Star Windows. 

To enhance the outdoor living experience, Starcom Design Build added a new Deck and Screened-in Porch. The Deck was constructed with durable, weather-resistant materials. The deck provided an outdoor overlook into the backyard, perfect for summertime activates. The Screened-In Porch also accommodated the family outside enjoyment with the luxury of using furniture protected by the ever-changing weather. 

By focusing on these key areas, Starcom Design Build successfully transformed the 1940's home into a modern, comfortable, and accessible living space that meets the needs of the entire family. The project not only enhanced the home's functionality but also preserved its charm and character, making it a welcoming place for everyone.
