This 89-year-old home had an awkward front entry and the kitchen was outdated and too small. They were interested in numerous projects and updates. We listened to what the homeowners were hoping to accomplish and our design team worked closely with them to create amazing results.
Even though they had their kitchen remodeled fifteen years prior, they wanted more space and style. Using Norcraft cabinetry, Paradiso granite for countertops and tile flooring helped us reach our goal. An under-mount sink was installed and Kohler products were used. The new Pella windows add flare and allow abundant natural light. Our customers bought their own appliances and that helped with budgeting. While on vacation in Italy, they had purchased pendant light covers but we had to find fixtures to fit these covers. Now the lights are a perfect accent. We also needed a load-bearing solution but did not want a column right in the middle of the room. A complex beam system eliminated that problem.
The existing guest bath had a small bath with shower and a pedestal sink. Storage was non-existent. We were able to expand the square footage of this room to make it less cramped. The new guest bath now has a full-size bath, shower, an under-mount sink and a new vanity. The customer now has ample counter and cabinet space. Beautiful Travertine flooring was also installed.
The homeowners wished to enlarge their foyer. Whenever they had visitors, their 3 x 4 foyer landing was too crowded. With a step down to the main floor, it also was unsafe. We expanded their foyer area, installed slate flooring and built a much needed closet.
Our customers wanted a designated area for an office/work area but with the existing home, it was impossible. We suggested a two-story addition. The second-story would bump out their son’s bedroom and give him more space. The entire first floor would be the home office they dreamed of. The room is warm and inviting with Pella windows and Bruce Butterscotch hardwood flooring. To make this addition not so traditional and to add distinction, we suggested a turret-shaped structure.
To add “curb appeal” to the front of their home, we built a beautiful portico and front porch. A Provia cherry wood grain front door with leaded glass is a classy focal point. Our company did have to install a drywell system in the side yard to eliminate a runoff system in the yard.
The design and craftsmanship of this project is exceptional. With all the beautiful changes and upgrades, the value of this home has been enhanced. The homeowners are very happy and delighted with the exquisite transformation!
