An In-Law Suite was necessary to accommodate the expanding family that would be moving in within 4-months.
Starcom Design Build would construct a 1200 sq foot addition to the existing home. 200 sq foot screened porch was also added to the back of the house. The new addition includes a full kitchen, full primary bath on the first floor and a full guest bath on the second floor, a study on the second floor, a primary bedroom and walk in closet on the first floor, a laundry room in the hallway, and an open front porch. The materials used were to match the home's aesthetics. The home's layout was simple to accommodate for the elderly parents that were moving in. All materials were up-to-date and installed to perfection.
The end result is a beautiful and cohesive addition that blends well with the original home yet is an independent and private space. The finish project underwent a few small touches, but the end result was a sizable, useful, and beautiful in-law suite.
This client for Starcom needed more space for their expanding family. Starcom was able to build them more space with a room, closet, and bathroom! Not taking up much more space in the back yard, the project seamlessly was added to the home to accommodate the family's need for more room.
With customed color styles for the rooms, materials picked out by the client with help from the designer, this expansion to the home added more modern elements while giving the family more room to spread out. The materials used were up-to-date matched the home. With the home matching well with the original, the home owner was pleased to see everything coming into focus.
The client was able to enjoy their new space with no issue. The quality of the materials used will last a life time and will forever be a focal point for the new expansion.
Imagine the excitement of a loving family as they embarked on a transformative journey with Starcom Design Build to create the perfect In-Law Suite for their beloved grandparents.
The journey began with a complete overhaul of the kitchen. Starcom Design Build used Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 400 Low VOC Latex Paint to give the kitchen a fresh, vibrant look. Both beautiful and functional the space was ensuring a welcoming environment for the two families to congregate in a focal point of the home. The Kitchen backsplash was a timeless design picked by the family with the help of our designer. Modern and a timeless look with the whites and dark blues made the large Kitchen stylish and easy to clean.
The living room was next on the list. Starcom Design Build expanded the space, creating a larger, more inviting area for the family to gather other than the Kitchen. The open-concept design allowed natural light to flood in, highlighting the cozy areas that overlooked the backyard.
The new bathroom for the In-Law Suite had a modern tub, beautiful double sink with custom picked tiling. Tiling also was picked out for the floor to ceiling in the shower walls which added a touch of luxury and personality.
The Family were overjoyed with the results. The In-law Suite not only provided a beautiful, functional space for their Grandparents but also brought the entire family closer together. Thanks to Starcom's devotion in quality work and professional planning, the family can stay united in a beautiful home.
Transforming this home from outdated and dingy, to new and contemporary. We added stonework to the front of the home to draw the eye in and give some visual interest. The porch was updated and redone, and the entire house was given all new siding in a new color to really change the whole look of the home. That's curb appeal!
Family looking to remodel the rear of their home came to Starcom Design Build for a Screened in Porch to be more open and bigger and a rework of the Deck.
The expansion of a screen porch with a double gable design to 355 sq ft, complemented by a new 144 sq ft open deck with steps, is a substantial home improvement project. The use of Fibercon Good Life composite decking ensures a durable and low-maintenance surface, while the black aluminum screen and white post covers add a modern aesthetic. The monumental white vinyl railing with black aluminum balusters will provide safety and a visually appealing contrast.
The installation of a new white screen door enhances accessibility and ventilation. For the ceiling, T111 paneling is chosen for its sturdy, textured appearance, and the white 5” clapboard vinyl siding will give the new screen porch back wall a classic finish. The creation of four exposed beams from unfinished 1x6 lumber will add a rustic touch to the design.
A white full-view screen/glass door on the side wall leading to the deck addresses the practical need to protect against pets, while the steel insulated full-view outswing door at the dining room's back wall offers a secure and energy-efficient exit. The addition of two fixed windows on either side of this door will allow natural light to flood the dining area.
The choice of Pella Encompass white vinyl windows with low e argon glass ensures energy efficiency without compromising on style, as they lack grids for a clean, modern look. The installation of four Velux 2x6 fixed skylights with low e argon glass will invite additional daylight into the space, enhancing the ambiance.
For lighting, eight pendant lights, controlled by four switches and a dimmer, will provide adjustable illumination. Five interior outlets and one outdoor outlet facing the deck offer convenience for electrical needs. The inclusion of two ceiling fans will aid in air circulation, and three double spotlights will accentuate key features of the porch.
This comprehensive plan combines functionality with aesthetics, creating an inviting outdoor living space that is both practical and stylish.
