With large gatherings as a constant, the home owner needed an update to parts of the kitchen. This stage of the renovation was the pantry section. More organized, more up-to-date style, revolutionized the flow of the kitchen. With the homeowner who loves to entertain and cook, she needed an area of the kitchen to hold all her cooking supplies!
Proper storage was a must, and to open the space up, the addition of putting the fridge, oven, and microwave into the surrounding pantries and cabinets to be all at her disposal was the decision that best fit the space. Dark wood made the polished steel appliances stand out, easy to clean, and offered a unique function for utilizing space.
The end of the project delighted the homeowner and later wanted the rest of the kitchen remodeled, and later, an addition branching off the kitchen into the backyard!
The original kitchen was in need of an upgrade. The home owner was looking for a better design that would be simple, modern, and easy to clean. A more open concept was agreed upon thanks to the help of our Designer, Carly.
The new white cabinets brighten up the home while the luxury vinyl plank brings warmth and easy cleaning. Ridding of the dark brown tones, the kitchen now lets the natural light brighten the space with ease. The new simplistic style still has it charms and uniqueness. The floor, in a light brown, still easy to clean and durable. The new layout opens the space allowing tactical countertops and a bigger table for those important family meals. There was also the change to condense the appliances for easier access in usage when cooking large meals for the big family gatherings.
In the end, the home owner was overjoyed with how clean cut the kitchen looks!
Anticipating family members moving in within 4 months, an In-Law Suite was necessary to accommodate the expanding family in Ellicott City. Starcom Design Build constructed an In-Law Suite attached to the original home. The Addition has a good space for the Family Member moving in while also keeping the style of the original home.
The solution was to add a 1200 sq foot addition with a new 250 sq foot screened porch. The new addition includes a full kitchen, full primary bath on the first floor and a full guest bath on the second floor, a study on the second floor, a primary bedroom and walk in closet on the first floor, a laundry room in the hallway, and an open front porch.
The end result is a beautiful and cohesive addition that blends well with the original home yet is an independent and private space. The Homeowners were pleased with the end result and are able to care for their elderly Family Members.
Family wanted to expand their home with a seamless addition to their home. Starcom was able to construct a space conscious addition to give more room for the homeowners.
An additional of 960 sq feet was added to this home for the purpose of an In-Law Suite. The Removal of the Mudroom, Deck, Railings, and Stairs were needed to convert this Deck into a livable In-Law Suite was needed. 12 Pella Encompass Energy Star Windows with Grids, Double Hung Windows, Patio Door with no Grids, and 1 Velux 2x6 Fixed Skylight for the Kitchen offer natural lighting and a great view of the backyard. The cozy addition provides the extra space for an In-Law Suite without detracting from the main home.
The ending result was a fantastic addition that seamlessly enhances the quality of the home.
Offering a seamless addition to the home, a Sunroom to enter the Backyard was installed. This addition for the Family's Home with big windows to still let in natural lighting and a good view of their backyard.
Sunroom was designed to be 19’ x 16’ as an addition to the home. There was also the pouring of a 4’ wide sidewalk from the new porch steps to the existing driveway. 3 - 8” square vinyl covered posts would be installed on the portico and back porch. Monumental Lincoln white vinyl railing with black metal balusters. Fiberon Good Life decking installed on the back deck and front Portico. The sunroom and back porch will have a vaulted ceiling while the Portico will have a flat ceiling. Big windows were installed to both bring in natural light and have a good view of the back yard.
With the Project completed, the flow between the Home and Backyard is bridged by a stunning Sunroom!
